Datalex is a Lagos-based software company that builds AI-powered management systems for five sectors: pharmacies, electronics/retail shops, logistics and courier companies, hospitals and clinics, and schools. Unlike most Nigerian business software, which digitizes paperwork, Datalex systems use AI to make decisions — predicting which drugs will expire, which products to restock, which driver should take which delivery, and which students are at risk of falling behind. Every system is built offline-first for Nigeria’s power and internet realities, and every system talks to customers and staff over WhatsApp, because that’s where Nigerians actually communicate.
After years of building websites and running digital marketing campaigns for Nigerian SMEs, one pattern kept repeating: the business problems our clients actually had weren’t solved by a better website. A pharmacy losing money on expired stock doesn’t need a landing page — it needs a system that flags expiry six weeks out. A school drowning in fee-collection follow-ups doesn’t need an Instagram strategy — it needs parents who get a reminder automatically. We built the Datalex AI Suite to solve the operational problem behind the marketing problem.
Most software in this market calls itself “AI-powered” as a marketing term. Every Datalex system has at least one AI feature that produces a specific business decision — a reorder recommendation, a route assignment, a pricing suggestion — calculated from your actual data.
Power and internet outages are a fact of doing business in Nigeria, not an edge case. Every Datalex system keeps working at the counter, in the clinic, or on the road during an outage, and syncs automatically once connection returns.
Notifications, delivery tracking, and fee reminders go out where Nigerians actually check messages — not buried in an email inbox.
You're never quoted in dollars and re-billed at a different exchange rate next month.
We work with independent pharmacies and wholesale drug distributors, phone and electronics shops selling across multiple channels, courier and haulage companies, private hospitals and diagnostic centers, and primary, secondary, and training institutions — alongside our original web design and digital marketing client base of close to 100 businesses across Nigeria.
Datalex operates from three locations: Lagos (Surulere), Abuja (Maitama), and Port Harcourt (D-Line), with clients across all three cities and beyond.
Software built for Nigeria has to start from Nigerian constraints, not have them bolted on afterward. That means designing for unreliable power before designing a nice dashboard. It means putting WhatsApp notifications in the first version, not the third. It means pricing in naira from day one. We’d rather ship something narrower that actually works on a bad network day than something feature-rich that only works in ideal conditions — because ideal conditions aren’t the conditions our clients run their businesses in.

Datalex builds AI-powered management systems for the businesses that keep Nigeria running — pharmacies, shops, hospitals, logistics companies, and schools. Every system works offline, runs on low bandwidth, talks to your customers on WhatsApp, and gets smarter the more you use it.
